Ionic bond :-
Bond formed between oppositely charged ions is called ionic bond .This bond is formed by electrostatic attraction between ions
Example :-
Na+ + Cl_ ------> NaCl
Na has one outer electron it cann't gain eight other electrons to complete its octet
Cl has 7 outer electrons it needs just one electron to complete its octet so these both ions attract each other and shares their electrons with each other to fulfill their deficiency
