As the popularity of Indian classical music continues to grow, two Indian musicians are paying tribute to one of its pioneers.
Musician Basant Madhur and composer Amit Sengupta are hosting a tribute concert to three-time Grammy Award-winning sitar player Ravi Shankar at the Dorothy Winstone Centre on March 16.
Mr Shankar died in December last year at the age of 92.
He is credited with introducing Indian music to the West and influencing artists across a wide range of genres - most famously The Beatles.
The legendary sitar maestro was honoured posthumously with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 55th Grammy Awards last month.
He is the first Indian musician to receive the prestigious award.
Hope it helps
