Munro System is a system in which the farmer was declared as the owner of the land.The company made a revenue settlement directly with a peasants i.e the taxes were directly were collected from the farmers.It was developed by Thomas Munro in 1820,hence the system came to be known as the Munro System.

➡️ In the British territories in the south , a new system was derived which was known as Ryotwars or Ryotwari.

➡️ Ryotwari was intiated by captain Alexander Read and Thoomas Munro. This system was extended all over the south India.

➡️ In this system, Ryots were directly involved for the collection of revenue and it was fixed after the propper assessment of individual land.
