Tribals movements are basically ethnic in nature. The agriculture based tribal people were forced to leave their lands  by the money lenders and the Zamindars or the revenue officials.

The Tribal people were not only exploited by the zamindars and the money lenders but their lands were snatched by them whenever they failed to pay back their loans.

The lives of the tribal people was very miserable. In 1850 the Khond Tribe under the leadership of Bisoi started the movement.
