The Indigo Rebellion (Neel Bidroho) took place in Bengal in 1859-60 and was a revolt by the farmers against British planters who had forced them to grow indigo under terms that were greatly unfavorable to the farmers. Indigo cultivation started in Bengal in 1777. Indigo was in high demand worldwide.

The revolt started from the villages of - Gobindapur and Chaugacha in Krishnanagar, Nadia district, where Bishnucharan Biswas and Digambar Biswas first led the rebellion against the planters in Bengal ,1859

⭕ Indian Indigo is in high demand because it was manufactured by the plants which is cheaper in cost and easily foundable. its cost is very low as compare to dye which was imported from foreign. The gestures of indian indigo is good as well shining easily moldable to any design.
