The months of Bhadra-Ashwin corresponding to July to September form the autumn season. The autumn of Bengal is a favorite season. In this season, the nature takes a new bright look. The sky remains clear. Sometimes pieces of white clouds float over the blue sky. The sky becomes beautiful to look. At night, the light of the moon and the twinkling of the stars makes a beautiful scene. Flowers like white fragrant (sephali) jesmines, lotus and roses blossoms excellently. The bees and birds infatuated happily. We are pleased to breathe the morning fragrant scent in the air.
The beauty of Bengal knows no bounds. The eyes satisfy in looking to the fields. The paddy field waves and dances gently and pleasantly with the blowing winds. The greatest festivals of Bengal, Durga Puja, Diwali, The Lakshmi Puja and Kali Puja are held in this season. The colourful dresses of the boys and girls, young and old, men and women take an excellent look and they visit the Puja temples right from the morning till late night. The pandals are illuminated with coloured lights and many decorations even in private houses. The memories of the autumn remain in the hearts of the millions for some time.

The autumn is one of the five seasons. It comes after monsoon and ends before winters. Dry winds and sunlight could be experienced during this season due to which, the leaves of the trees and plants dries up and falls. The level of transpiration is the highest during this period.
This season seems pessimistic to people as they think that trees loose their resemblance and teaches the bitter truth of life, but it should be taken as a good lesson as the trees attain back new and better after loosing their old leaves which teaches that one should never give up.
