SAVE GIRL CHILD

Women are the most important section of the society and equally participate in the life existence on the earth. However, regular decrease in the sex ratio of female in India because of the crimes against women, it has created the fear of total finish of women. So, it is very necessary to save girl child in order to maintain the ratio of women in India.

Girls are equally as important as boys in the society to maintain the social equilibrium. Few years ago, there was huge reduction in the number of women in comparison to the man. It was so because of the increasing crimes against women such as female foeticide, dowry deaths, rape, poverty, illiteracy, gender discrimination and many more. To equalize the number of women in the society, it is very necessary to aware people greatly about the save girl child. “Save the Girl Child”

It is said that god created mothers because he could not be present everywhere. It is unbelieveable to realize that a god's representative is countinuously killing someone beautiful even before she can come out and see the beauty of nature. Let us consider some facts -

In india , she is the goddesses to be revered , in the form of Laxmi ( Goddess of wealth ) , Saraswati ( Goddess of knowledge ) and Sita ( ideal consort of Lord Sri Ram ) and even in the form of Durga ( Killer of evil ) but does that happpen in real life ? The picture in real life is quite different.

India is growing dynamically in every field. Today , the boom in economy , innovative technologies and improved infrastructure has become nation's pride. The country has witnessed advancement in all fields but has the country given equal opportunities to the boys and girls?

India has examples of woman who have risen from ashes like phoenix and done the country proud. There are numerous examples to mention, The country had an able prime minister in Indira Gandhi and now H.E. Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil , the first female president of India. India's first woman IPS officer Kiran Bedi, who had braught great laurels to her profession in the country, Kalpana Chawla , the first female astronaut from India. The list is endless. then Why the girl child is denied the basic human right of taking birth through female infacticide and female foeticide?

Jawaharal Nehru , the first Prime minister of India has said - “ You can tell the condition of a nation by looking at the status of its woman”.

As regards status of girl child - “It is believed that every year 12 million girls are born in the country but unfortunately only 1/3 of those survive. Some are killed in the womb , some at the time of the birth, some die due to ill health and some due to poor nutritional status. Only a few number of girls are able to survive till their 15th birthday”.

Worst to say -

 – Number of girl child in Delhi (865) and mumbai ( 898) is much below the national ratio of 927 girls per 1000 boys. – Every sixth girl childs death is due to gender discrimination. – 3 lac more girls than boys die every year.

If these practise contines , then the country and the region as a whole is likely to witness increased gender biased voilence , trafficking , discrimination and general vulnerability of woman and girls.
