Indian Government is quite concerned with the effects
of pollution on the deteriorating health of its people and
alarming increase in global warming and has, to start
with, introduced blending of gasoline with 10%
ethanol. This step has not only reduced the air pollution
but has considerably reduced dependence on imported
fuel thereby saving in precious foreign exchange.
