How I spent summer vacation…
I got an opportunity to travel to one such place of extreme natural beauty, where peace and the pristine pastoral charm has not been affected by the modern industrial competition. During the summer vacation, I got the chance of visiting Dharamshala and the adjoining spots.
We set out early in the morning. The heat of the season began dwindling as our car went up the serpentine roads in the Himalayas. We reached Dharamshala in the afternoon, and finding the place teeming with tourists, we decided to put up at Chamunda Devi. We luckily got a hotel literally far from the madding crowd!
The sylvan surroundings around the hotel were as bucolic as described by Wordsworth in his poems. There was a tall mountain standing grandly just in front of the hotel at whose foot gargled a rivulet. There were no rows of houses; no honking traffic. To add more joy to our felicity, it rained very hard that day. After that I went to my hotel. The climate was so agreeably cold, we did not feel the need of switching on even the fans. We were refreshed physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
In the evening we went to the Chamunda Devi temple where I met a Yogi. I touched his feet and he blessed me and gave me a rose bud saying it would never wither. I thanked him for the divine gift. His words were true. The rose bud has been as fresh since then.
Summertime is the most awaited time of any student’s life. It gives them a break from the scorching sun and blazing heat. The summer months are quite hot, however, students love them because they bring a sense of calmness due to the vacations. It frees them from the monotonous and dull routine of school and studies.
Most importantly, summer vacations give us a chance to explore new things. We can adopt new hobbies like painting, dancing, singing and more during this time. Furthermore, it gives us a chance to visit our grandparents or to someplace abroad. Summer vacations bring all types of fun, however, these particular summer vacations were the most memorable for me. My parents made me join a summer camp which was too much fun and then we visited our grandparents’ place.
At first, I thought it would be of no use and would be equally boring. However, to my surprise, I was wrong. The summer camp was one of the best experiences of my life. I got the chance to indulge in so many activities and in fact, it was the first time where I discovered my talent for painting.
