Small pain in my chest is a poem written by Michael Mack. The poem is about a soldier laying beside a tree after the war. The poet was roaming on the land of war in the cold morning and was called by a soldier lying injured beside the tree. He came closer to the soldier and made him drink the sip of water.
The soldier was mourning on the way he was lying so tired after the war. He said that his mother would not be proud of seeing him like this, his would not be happy seeing him giving up. He said he is feeling a small pain in his chest.
He died after some moments. The poet was adjusting his body and when touching him, the poet also felt the small pain in his chest.
