Name of the chapter - The Proposal

Summary -

• Lomov goes into Chubukov's house - He is a rich landlord. He tells Chubukov that he wanted to propose her daughter. Chubukov was the neighbor of him. Chubukov agreed and calls Natalya.
• Lomov's Marriage - He talks about his decision to marry Natalya. He was sure that she was a good, educated woman who can take his care properly. He suffered from disturbed sleep and palpitations.
• Natalya meets Lomov - He beats about bush, says that Oxen Meadows were near their land. Natalya tells against him, she claims Oxen Meadows is theirs. The arguments start, she tells her dad to take him out of the house and they did.
• Lomove was called back - Natalya told her father to bring lomov back when she listen that he came to propose her. They stated their talks and soon they argued about their dogs. Each tells that his/her dog is better. Suddenly Lomov falls unconscious.
• Chubukov agrees to marry Natalya to Lomov - Lomov wakes up. Chubukov hastily announces Natalya's marriage with Lomov. The kisses each other but seem to resume their quarrels.
