Shota has some pies. On Monday he eats 1/2 of the pies. On Tuesday he eats 1/3 of the remaining pies. On Wednesday he eats 1/4 of what's left and then finally gives 1/5 a of the pies remaining to his friend Will. Will gets 13 pies. How many pies did Shota have to start with?

Step-by-step explanation:

let total number of pies be x

then,

he ate 1/2 of pies on 1st day

he ate 1/2*1/3 of pies on second day

he ate 1/2*1/3*1/4 of pies on third day

his friend then gets 1/2 * 1/3 * 1/4 * 1/5 part which is equal to 13

hence 13=1/2*3*4*5

hence 13= 1/120

hence no. of pies shota has is 13*120

which is 1560

hope this helps
