It's a no.

English, being the most spoken language in the world indeed has a huge vocabulary to express ones feelings and it can definitely be used to communicate in groups. But, considering the fact that India is losing it's own culture by promoting english by giving it a high society status, I don't think that it should be an official language for group discussions. Such stupid laws if implemented will hamper the concept of 'Unity in Diversity' in India.

Even if we ignore the 'Unity in Diversity' concept, then also making English official language for discussions will turn out to be a chaotic move. India is a developing nation, and most of its public uses it's own native language to communicate. They don't know English very well. This way, those people who don't understand English will feel alienated amongst the so called educated people. It will begin a never ending polity in India that will divide the nation in two parts. One that supports the language and the other that doesn't.

I don't say that English is bad in India, English is an integral part of India and it can not be separated from it. But what I am saying is that making it official language for group discussions would be a poor decision.

Thank You
