No country should have religion based political parties. Secular political parties serve the country the best and under ideal conditions (which is very rare), they are impartial to any religion or sect, whether majority or minority.
However, when there is undue influence of the ruling party, in promoting a particular religion or sect, other political parties are forced to take up religion in its agenda and be seen as a religion based political party.
In my opinion India should not allow religion based political parties as it may rip the secularism of the country apart.
Even though politics and communalism as different terms, they can be interrelated in form of injustice. Because relating the two term will always end in injustice actions like violence and murders.
How communalism can be expressed in politics.
When a majority community pretend or try to establish its domination over other community.
When a person in power tries to dominate the entire population by exaggerating communal beliefs to a particular community.
When one community claims to be superior than others.
When one political power utilizes the unawareness of a particular community to survive in the wild.
