1)River harnessing is an artificial way of controlling the water flow by using the river dams,in order to produce hydroelectricity and to do many other things.

Ofcourse it is necessary nowadays, because the increasing population is constantly demanding a lot of resources for their survival.

But we should harness the river in a sustainable manner ,to avoid any kind of environmental harm.

2) Glaciers are often dangerous for the locality under the mountain regions.Glaciers can easily demolish those localities.

And glaciers can also block the flow of the rivers in the mountain regions.
