There is mass in everything. Mass is the particles in any object which didn't change anywhere. Also if u r on moon. So there should be no mass on the centre of the location of the system

Answer is .. there is nothing at the location of the centre of mass . It is just a useful mathemetical concept to simplify the study of the motion of a rigid body
