should we write a moral of the story at the end of the story?

It is preferred sometimes. If you wrote a short story with a message, you may write a moral at the end. However, it is not a must. If the story is based on a saying, it would be okay to write a moral at the end. Professional writers don't prefer writing morals in their stories most of the times. But for a student, it depends on choice.
