Answer:

Let's assume that an object is moving with uniform acceleration , having initial velocity as u and final velocity as v.

Now , we can tell that the graph of the acceleration vs time will have following characteristics:

  • Graph will be linear
  • It will be parallel to time axis.

We know that area under Acceleration vs time graph gives us the change in velocity :

 \bigstar \: \: change \: in \: vel. = area

 = > \Delta v = area \: under \: the \: graph

 = > v - u = area \: of \: rectangle

 = > v - u = a \times t

 = > v = u + at

QUESTION :

Show by means of graphical method that :- v=u+atwhere the symbol have their usual meaning?

SOLUTION :

Derivation Of The First Equation Of Motion { Graphical Method } -

See the attachment above.

This figure shows a velocity versus time graph.

The time intervals are depicted on the X axis and the velocity on the Y axis.

We know that acceleration is rate of change of velocity in unit time.

So,

Acceleration = V / T = { V - U } / T

Hence Derived....
