Hello Mate!

To represent root 5 on number line.

Use pythagorean therorum.

But how we can use it?

Answer : Take root 4 = 2 unit as base from 0.

Now draw a perpendicular of 1 unit from 2

Join the line and you will get hypotenuse as root 5

 {h}^{2} = {b}^{2} + {p}^{2} \\ {h}^{2} = {2}^{2} + {1}^{2} \\ {h}^{2} = 4 + 1 \\ h = \sqrt{5}

You will get hypotenuse as root 5.

Hope it helps☺!✌
