Answer:

(1) 2 parallel and one in series of them two

(2) 2 in series and one is parallel of them two

Explanation:

because in series resistance will add

R = R1 +R2

in parallel combination=. 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2

Answer:

answer is given below :

Explanation:

to get a resistance of 9 ohm , connect two 6 ohm resistors in parallel and the resultant parallel resistance in series with the third 6 ohm resistor as given below .

1/6+1/6 = 2/6 or 1/3 . so , Rp = 3.

3 ohm + 6 ohm = 9 ohms

2nd part . to get a resistance of 4 ohms , connect two of the 6 ohm resistor in series with each other . Then , connect the resistance obtained by connecting two six ohm resistor in series with the third 6 ohm resistor in parallel as given below.

6 ohm + 6 ohm = 12 ohm ( series )

1/12 + 1/6 = 3/12 or 1/4 . Rp = 4 ohms .
