Answer: i) For getting an equivalent resistance of 3 ohm, join all the resistors in parallel.

ii)For resistance of 13.5 ohm, join 2 resistors in parallel and 1 in series.

Explanation: i) When resistors are kept in parallel, 1/R= 1/R+1/R+1/R.

Therefore, 1/R= 1/9+1/9+1/9

                        = 1/3

Therefore, R= 3 ohm

ii) When 2 resistors are kept in parallel, 1/R= 1/9+1/9

                                                                          =2/9

Therfore, R= 9/2

                   = 4.5 ohm

Now, when one resistor is kept in series, the totla resistance is R+R

Therefore, R= 4.5+9

                     = 13 ohm
