I think there is no need of weight chalk

3% of 1000=3/100*1000

30gram carbon

10% of 1000=10/100*1000

100 gram calcium

12% of 1000= 12/100*1000

Now as we know the chalk contains 3% of carbon so to find the actual quantity of carbon(in grams) we shall find 3% of 1000g

We can write 3% as 3/100

3/100*1000=30g

Similarly,

Calcium= 10/100*1000=100g

And,

12/100*1000=120g
