Lemon on different indicators :

  • Lemon is acidic in nature ( ph < 7 )
  • Blue Litmus turns Red: Blue Litmus changes its color to red when acted with acid
  • Methyl Orange turns Red: The methyl orange indicator turns to a red color when acted with acid
  • Phenolphthalin turns Colourless: The phenolphthalin turns colorless when acted with acid

Soap on different indicators :

  • Soap is basic in nature ( ph > 7 )
  • Red Litmus turns Blue: Red Litmus changes its color to blue when acted with base
  • Methyl Orange turns Yellow: The methyl orange indicator turns to a yellow color when it reacts with any base
  • Phenolphthalin turns Pink: The phenolphthalin turns pink on reaction with a base

Salt on different indicators :

  • Salt is neutral in nature ( ph = 7 )
  • Red Litmus and Blue Litmus have no color change: The red litmus remains red and the blue litmus remains blue on reaction with a neutral substance
  • Methyl Orange has no change: The methyl orange indicator has no change in color when reacted with a neutral compound.
  • Phenolphthalin remains colorless: The phenolphthalin remains colorless on reaction with a neutral substance.
