Amir Khusro was a Sufi musician, poet and scholar from India and worked in the royals courts of various kings and sultans.

He was a mystic and a spiritual disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi, India.

Also known as Tuti -e-Hind (=Parrot of India) and “Turk of India” for his poetic eloquence and fluency in Persian and Hindavi.

he did write profusely in Persian and is considered the foremost Indian poet writing in Persian.

Written way back in the 12th century, Amir Khusro's poems are still revered and relevant.

Khusro was very proud of his Indian heritage, but unfortunately only a very small collection of his Hindvi writings have survived into the present day.
