show that 1÷√2 is rational or irrational?(show procedur)

1 ÷ √2

= 1 × 1 / √2

= 1 × 1 * √2 / 2 ( rationalising denominator)

= 1 × √2 / 2

As we know that producten of a rational and an irrational is always an irrational number .

hence , this number is irrational.
