TO PROVE : 1 is a zero of p(x) = x^2 + x - 2
p(1) = (1)^2 + 1 - 2
p(1) = 1+1-2
p(1) = 2-2
p(1) = 0
Since it gives a value 0 , when substituting the zero in the place of x , 1 is a zero of the given equation.
