co prime -

Two numbers are coprime if their highest common factor (or greatest common divisor) is 1.

Hcf of 120 and 185

i. Find the prime factorization of 185

185 = 5 × 37

ii. Find the prime factorization of 120

120 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5

iii. To find the hcf, multiply all the factors common to both numbers:

5

Therefore, HCF = 5

so the hcf is 5 and not 1 . The record they are co prime
