To Show :- 13 - √5 is irrational .

So, we shall prove this by the method of contradiction . Let us assume that 13-√5 is a Rational Number.


13 - √5 = r

√5 = 13 - r

Now , LHS of the equation i,e √5 is irrational .

So, RHS that is 13 - r cannot be rational as then the equation will be false !
