Hey there !!
p(x) = 2x³ -11x² - 4x + 1
g(x) = 2x +1
2x + 1 = 0
x = -1/2
Put this value in p(x) :-
p(-1/2)= 2 × [-1/2]³ - 11 × [ -1/2 ]² - 4 × -1/2 + 1
2 × -1/8 - 11 × 1/4 +2 + 1
2 × -1/8 - 11 × 1/4 + 3
-2/8 -11/4 + 3
= -2/8 + -22/8 + 3
= -24/8 + 3
= -3 + 3
= 0
Hence ,
2x + 1 is a factor of the polynomial 2x³ -11x² - 4x + 1
Hope this Helped You !!!
