show that 3x+7 square - 84 x = 3x -7 whole square

Use the factorization for a difference of squares:

a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)

So...

(3x + 7)² - (3x - 7)²

= [ (3x + 7) - (3x - 7) ] [ (3x + 7) + (3x - 7) ]

= [ 14 ] [ 6x ]

= 84x

⇒ (3x + 7)² - 84x = (3x - 7)²
