√3=5-a

Since a is rational and 3 is rational there fore (5-a) is rational as the difference of two rational numbers is also rational with respect to the opreation of subtraction

=>√3 is a rational number .

Hence our assumption is wrong.

Hence,2-√3 is an irrational number .
