let us assume that 5-√6 is rational

therefore 5-√6= p/q

-√6 = (p/q) -5

-√6 = p-5q/q

√6= 5q-p/q

here 5q-p/q is rational but it contradicts the fact that √6 is irrational

therefore our assumption was wrong

hence 5-√6 is irrational

hence proved
