we can show it by remainder theorem that if we put the value of a in this equation then the equation should become zero
so a+2=0=>a=-2
putting a in the equation
 { - 2}^{2} + 4 \times - 2 + 4 \\ = 4 - 8 + 4 = 0\\ so \: value \: is \: zero
because value is zero so a+2 is a factor
