Show that a-b,a,a+b From consecutive terms of an A.P.?

Answer:

In an A.P.,

2nd Term - 1st Term = 3rd Term - 2nd Term

Here,

1st Term = a-b

2nd Term = a

3rd Term = a+b

LHS

a-(a-b) = a-a+b

           = b

RHS

a+b-a = b

∵ LHS = RHS,

∴ The terms are in A.P.

In an AP we know that 2 times of second term =1st term + 3rd term i.e 2a =a-b+a+b i.e 2a=2a. So given terms are in AP
