Draw AL BC .
PROOF :
Since AD is the median of ∆ABC. Therefore, D is the mid-point of point BC.
→ BD = DC
→ BD × AL = DC × AL BD = DC
→ 1/2 ( BD × AL ) = 1/2 ( DC × AL )
