<FEC + <ECD = 160° + 20° = 180°

According to the same-side interior angle theorem which states that when two lines that are parallel and is intersected by a transversal line, the same-side interior angles that are formed add up to 180°.

Therefore EF||CD............(1)

<ABC = <BCD = 40°

If alternate interior angles are same that are formed when a transversal line cuts two lines. Then those two lines are said to parallel.

Therefore AB||CD................. (2)

From (1) & (2)

We get that AB||CD & CD||EF

Therefore AB||EF
