Mass of gass = Volume x density
m = V x D
V = m / D
m = no of moles x Molar mass of gass
m = n x M
=> V = (n x M ) / D
P x (n x M )/ D = n x RT
D = PM / RT

Now we know that,
Number of Moles = Given Mass / Molar Mass
Let us denote Given mass as 'm' and Molar Mass as 'M'.
Rewriting the given formula we get,
⇒ PV = ( m / M ) RT
Transposing M to Left Hand Side and V to Right Hand Side we get,
⇒ PM = ( m / V ) RT
We know that Density is Mass / Volume. So Substituting m/V as 'd' we get,
⇒ PM = dRT
⇒ d = PM / RT
