Hi there!!

Isothermal expansion is defined as the change in pressure and volume of an ideal gas keeping the temperature constant.

By ideal gas equation,

                                               PV = NRT

  P is inversely proportional to V @ isothermal expansion.

Hence, For an isothermal expansion in an ideal gas, P \alpha 1/V is observed.
