π (pi) is irrational BECAUSE it cannot be expressed as a fraction a/b, where a is an integer and b is a non-zero integer.

The value of (pi) is 3.14159.

A quick and easy approximation for π is 22/7....

22/7 = 3.1428571...But as you can see, 22/7 is not exactly right. In fact π is not equal to the ratio of any two numbers, which makes it an irrational number.
