We know momentum of an object,

P = ma,

where m = mass and v = velocity

Change of momentum , ∆P = mv – mu

where,v and u are initial velocity.

Rate of change of momentum

 \frac{m(v - u)}{t}   \:  ...........( i) \\  \\ Also \: we \: know \: Acceleration   \: a \:  =  \frac{v - u}{t}  \\  \\ Again \: force \:  F \: =  ma \\  \\ Thus \:( i)can \: be \: written \: as \: Fa =  \frac{m(v - u)}{t}

F = kma where k is constant

Hence from second law of motion we get force is product of mass and acceleration.

so, we can show that F = ma.
