Formula = rms speed of o2/rms speed of so2= root(mass of so2/mass of o2)

Mass of o2=32 gm/mol

Mass of so2=64 gm/mol

rms of o2/rms of so2 = root (64/32)

rms speed of o2/rms speed of so2 = root 2

hence rms velocity of oxygen molecule is root 2 times that of sulphur dioxide molecule.
