let us assume that root7+root5 is rational

then root7+root5 =a/b where a and b are coprimes

then square on both sides

(root7+root5)^2 =(a/b)^2

(√7)^2 +(√5)^2 +2(√7)(√5)= (a/b)^2

7+2(√35)+5=(a/b)^2

2(√35)+12=(a/b)^2

√35=(a/b)^2-12
