The figure consists of 4 RATs with the sides containing the right angle as 3 cm and 4 cm. Each of the 4 RATs have an area of 3*4/2 = 6 sq cm. Thus the rhombus has an area of 4*6 = 24 sq cm. The product of the diagonals is 6*8 = 48 and half their product is 48/2 = 24, same as the area of the rhombus.
