Show that the equations
(a) x = 2 + t, y = 3 + 2t and
(b) x = 3 - 5t, y = 5 – 10t represent the same line.​

part (a),

x=2+t ___ (1)

y=3+2t ___ (2)

by equation (1) and (2) to,

y=2x−1 ___ (A)

part (b),

x=3−5t ___ (3)

y=5−10t ___ (4)

by equation (3) and (4) to,

y=2x−1 ___ (B)

now,

equation (A) = equation (B)

Hence proved.
