Let point A = ( 2,0 ), B = ( - 2, 0 ) and C = ( 0,2 ).

Distance between AB =

 \sqrt{{(-2\:-\:2)}^{2}\:+\:{(0\:-\:0)}^{2}}

AB = \sqrt{16}

AB = 4 units

Distance between BC =

 \sqrt{{(0\:+\:2)}^{2}\:+\:{(2\:-\:0)}^{2}}

BC = \sqrt{4\:+\:4}

BC =  \sqrt{8}

BC = 2 \sqrt{2} units.

Distance between AC =

 \sqrt{{(0\:-\:2)}^{2}\:+\:{(2\:-\:0)}^{2}}

AC =  \sqrt{4\: + \:4}

AC = \sqrt{8}

AC = 2 \sqrt{2} units.

Since, BC = AC = 2 \sqrt{2} units.

Two sides are equal. So, it is an \tt{Isosceles \:triangle} .
