show that the points (2,0) ,(-2,0) and (0,2) are the vertices of a triangle. Also state with reason the type of the triangle.​

Step-by-step explanation:

Let point A = ( 2,0 ), B = ( - 2, 0 ) and C = ( 0,2 ).

Distance between AB = √[(-2-2)²+(0-0)²]

AB = √16  

AB = 4 units

Distance between BC = √[(0+2)²+(2-0)²]

BC =√(4+4)

BC = √8  

BC = 2√2  

Distance between AC = √[(0-2)²+(2-0)²]

AC =  √(4+4)

AC = √8

AC = 2√2

Since, BC = AC = 2√2

Two sides are equal, Therefore it is an  Isosceles triangle
