SOLUTION

TO PROVE

The product of 28 and 48 are equal to their LCM and HCF

EVALUATION

Here the given numbers are 28 and 48

We now find HCF and LCM by prime factorisation

28 = 2 \times 2 \times 7

48 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 3

So

HCF = 2 × 2 = 4

LCM = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 7 = 336

Now

HCF × LCM

= 4 × 336

= 1344

Product of the numbers

= 28 × 48

= 1344

∴ The product of 28 and 48 are equal to their LCM and HCF

Hence proved
