7,2,-3,-8........
a - a = 2 - 7 = -5
a - a = -3 - 2 = -5
a - a = -8 - (-3) = -5
since the common difference (d) between all terms are same -5 .
therefore this is in AP.
let , a = 7 , d = -5 , n = 16
then a a + (n-1) d
or, a = 7 + ( 16 - 1 ) -5
or, a = 7 + 15 * (-5)
or, a = 7 - 75
or, a = -68
hence the 16th term of the AP is -68
an = a + (n-1) d
an = 7 + (n - 1 ) -5
an = 7 -5n +5
an = 12 - 5n
hence the nth term of the AP is 12 -5n
