​Acids react with Metal Carbonates and Metal Hydrogen Carbonates (bi-Carbonates) produces Metal salt, Water and Carbon dioxide.

REACTION:-

For example,

1) Sodium Carbonate (Na2CO3) reacts with Hydrochloric acid (HCl) to produce Sodium chloride, Water and Carbon dioxide.

2HCl + Na2CO3  ----→  2NaCl + H2O + CO2 ↑

2) Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Na2HCO3) reacts with Hydrochloric acid (HCl) to produce Sodium chloride, Water and Carbon dioxide.

2HCl + Na2HCO3  ----→  2NaCl + H2O + CO2 ↑
