Sound travels i think at 340 mt/sec
The minimum time between a sound and the echo should be say 1 second between the end of a sound and the start of the echo for the ear to make out the difference
Assume the sound is a simple hello - will take 2 seconds
so the exho should start after 3 seconds
in 3 seconds sound will travel = 340 * 3 = 1020 meteres.- this is the return journey time. so the distance would be 1/2 of above - say 510 m
Good?
